Reading and Nottingham Forest both fined over player conduct after admitting Football Association charge
Reading and Nottingham Forest have both been fined after admitting a Football Association charge concerning player conduct.The charge is related to last weekend’s Championship match between the pair which ended in a 2-0 win for the Royals at theirMadejski Stadium home.Forest finished with just nine men, as Danny Fox was dismissed for two cautions before Tendayi Darikwa was shown a straight red card in the final 10 minutes.Reading must pay 5,000, while Forest have been handed a 10,000 fine, a Football Association statement confirmed.“Reading and Nottingham Forest have been fined 5,000 and 10,000 respectively after both clubs admitted an FA charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion,” the statement read.“It related to their conduct during the 62nd minute of their league game on 12 January 2019.”The incident in question came moments before Fox’s dismissal, with a melee breaking out between players from both teams after a wild challenge by Daryl Murphy, the Forest striker. Murphy and Forest team-mate Jack Robinson were booked for their part in the scuffle, as well as Reading defender Liam Moore, while Fox was given his marching orders after being shown a second yellow.Forest, who were under the caretaker charge ofSimon Ireland, host Bristol City this weekend in the first match of Martin O’Neill’s reign as manager.The Northern Irishman, who spent 10 years at the City Ground as a player, was brought in as the successor to Aitor Karanka earlier this week.
