Sam Allardyce has urged England to act quickly to snatch Declan Rice away from the Republic of Ireland, after watching his outstanding performance against Liverpool.The 20-year-old West Ham midfielder was superb in the holding midfield role and played a key part in the Hammers 1-1 draw with the Premier League leaders on Monday night.Manuel Pellegrini set up his team brilliantly against the high-flying Reds, as they soaked up pressure and frustrated the visitors at the London Stadium.They were actually unlucky not to win the game – missing a number of chances to score in the second half, while Liverpools opening goal should have been ruled out for offside.Yet it was still a fantastic result for West Ham, as well as title chasers Manchester City and Tottenham, and Rices class shone through.2

Rice has emerged as one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents this season

And former West Ham and England boss Allardyce believes Three Lions chiefs should go all out to make Rice who has yet to make a decision over his international future between Republic of Ireland and England their player.He was outstanding against Liverpool, Big Sam told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.There was a bit of magic involved moving him into midfield. Pellegrini got some stick at first – people saying, what are you doing playing a centre-half in midfield? – but I dont think anyone is moaning about that now with the performances hes putting in. He is brilliant.If he hasnt committed to Republic of Ireland yet, [England should] play him quickly. Very, very quickly.2

Rice played for Rep of Ireland throughout his youth career and has three senior caps, but as those were only in friendlies he can still switch his allegiance to England

With the way hes playing at the moment, hes got to be considered, surely. Hes playing every game in the Premier League and youre talking two positions now.His performances in midfield are getting better, for me, and thats a great sign for West Ham.
